Application context for a pvc pipe extrusion line: how pressure pipe, drainage pipe or conduit duty changes die, calibration, cooling and whether a corrugator belongs in the train. Pipe Extrusion Line Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. Factories confirm process feasibility; this page lists the production-stage questions that keep quotations comparable.
| Decision point | Evidence or question |
|---|---|
| Production stage: Upstream | Name PVC type (U-PVC, C-PVC), dry-blend or pellet, filler level if known, outer diameters, walls in millimetres, and whether the pipe is solid wall, foam core or corrugated. State duty cycle and the representative samples the plant will send for trial. |
| Control boundary | Ask whether the quoted extruder, die and vacuum calibration can hold the wall at the proposed line speed, and who supplies calibrators for each diameter. For corrugated PVC, ask who supplies the corrugator and forming tooling; a published conEX-style PVC corrugated case is one configuration, not a universal PE or all-diameter guarantee. |
| Downstream | Confirm cooling length, haul-off, cutter or belling, collection and how SAT will inspect dimensions and appearance. Upstream/downstream interfaces (dosing, printing, belling, packing) must be marked included or plant-furnished. |
Industry disputes show up clearly on PVC. Single machine or integrated line: a twin-screw extruder without matched calibration tanks is not a pipe plant. Nominal speed or validated output: catalogue metres per minute must be restated against the buyer’s wall and formulation, because cooling length often sets the real rate. Machine price or installed project cost: dies, calibrators, vacuum pumps, cooling water, installation and spare screws frequently sit outside the extruder line item.
Limitations: PVC heat history and formulation are buyer inputs; this site will not invent a recipe. Floor length shorter than the cooling trough is a site constraint. Electrical connected load and three-phase supply must match the plant; a 50 Hz nameplate does not prove 60 Hz US duty. FAT and SAT methods should use representative production samples rather than a leftover demonstration pipe. Product cards remain RFQ options under Plastics and Rubber Machinery, not proof of stock.
A procurement-check example, not a named case: a conduit buyer lists three diameters with walls, a 16-hour duty cycle and a Midwest destination. Bidders are asked for kg/h at those walls, cooling length, haul-off arrangement and whether belling tools are included. Corrugated conduit, if requested, needs a separate forming-tooling owner. Quotes that omit vacuum calibration are not cheaper complete lines.
